Research

The Canadian Concussion Institute will collaborate with experienced researchers in the field to spearhead state of the art research, involving objective measures of brain injury, changes in physiology related to brain injury and psychometric measures. The research projects will involve all areas covered by the institute, including: clinical care, education, communication and policies defining standards of care. Clinical care research will result in standardized methods of care based on objective measures of brain injury linked with psychometric measures. Educational research will explore the impact of education on clinical outcome measures, knowledge translation from research, and quality of educational tools. In the area of policy definition and change, the impact of these changes on clinical outcome measures will be examined. Quality assurance measures will be used to assess communication based on feedback and outcomes.
